Forthcoming
programmes on TV
Whilst
Jennifer has spent most of her television career at the BBC, last year, she also
produced and directed several programmes for Teachers TV. Jennifer is also a qualified
primary school teacher, so going back into the classroom was a bit of a trip down
memory lane. One of her recent programmes, Digging for History, is scheduled for
transmission on Teachers TV on Thursday 21 August at 15:45 and will be repeated
on Saturday 23 August at 13:45. You can also watch the programme online by clicking
on the Teachers TV logo.
A
surprise for Gemma and Paul
June 2008
At 4 Life Films, we like to go that extra mile for our clients. When Gemma and
Paul visited us to discuss the arrangements for filming their wedding, they only
had one thing on their mind. And it wasn't the wedding! They'd just bought
the most beautiful puppy, Phoenix. They were picking him up from the breeders
just two weeks before the wedding and were a bit sad at the thought of leaving
him behind for a fortnight when they went on honeymoon. For obvious reasons, Phoenix
wasn't at the wedding - though he did get a mention in the best man's speech!
We went one better on the wedding video though. We managed to track down Phoenix's
breeder, and popped over the see him with one of our cameras to record a special
video message for Gemma and Paul. You can see the message by clicking on the picture.
4
Life Films achieves IOV Accreditation
17th
April 2008
Jennifer
Page of 4 Life Films has recently been awarded Master Membership of the
Institute of Videography - a UK-based trade association which promotes
professionalism in video production.Less
than 50% of applicants are successful in achieving an accredited status within
the IOV, so Jennifer is proud to have passed first time - more than she can say
about her driving test!
All
IOV members agree to act in accordance with a strict Code of Practice which includes
offering their clients access to the IOV's Arbitration Service.
IOV
Membership Secretary, Martin Baker said: "Gaining an IOV accreditation is
no easy task. As general video production standards increase, so does the
expectations of those carrying out the accreditation process."
The
IOV's accreditation system is based on submission of work to a panel of existing
Fellows who grade the work in five main categories - namely Graphics, Camera Craft,
Sound, Editing and Overall Production Quality.More details can be found on the
IOV website - www.iov.com.
New
camera and microphones
20th
April 2008
An exciting day at 4 Life Films. We have a new camera: a Sony Z1. This can film
in both standard and high definite. Jennifer is particularly happy with the Z1
as it's the same camera that she has already used for a lot of her broadcast work.
You can see an example made by Jennifer using the Z1 in action by clicking
on the image.
This
week we've also got two new Sennheiser radio microphones, bringing our total number
up to three. The microphones are wireless and very small. We usually ask the groom
to wear one during the ceremony to ensure that we capture every word of the vows.
Now we have three, the groom, best man and father of the bride can all wear one
during the speeches, ensuring the best sound quality.
